FlowerLundy Island

LundySituated 11 miles off the North Devon coast, Lundy Island is a granite outcrop just 3 miles long and half a mile wide and a place of outstanding natural beauty. Once a home to smugglers and pirates, today the island is a well known wildlife sanctuary, home to seals, black rabbits, Lundy ponies and of course, the loveable puffin and many seabirds. One of Britain's few statutory marine nature reserves surrounds Lundy, making it very popular as a diving location. A day trip on board the Lundy passenger and supply ship, MS Oldenburg, a classic 300-ton vessel is a must, and it is also a chance to view the dramatic North Devon coast from the sea. The voyage takes under 2 hours on the MS Oldenburg, sailing from either Ilfracombe or Bideford or why not arrive in style in a helicopter for spectacular aerial views of the island.
