Clovelly Maritime Festival

16th July 2017

There will be lively music, street entertainment, craft creations, sea story telling, puppet shows and family activities. On the Quay there will be seafood kitchens, a range of food and arts and crafts stalls.  Free entry for under 16's if they come dressed as a pirate, mermaid, salty sea dog or fish wife.  Under 7's have free entry anyway, but we would love it if they came dressed up too.  So do come along and enjoy this fun-packed day out in support of North Devon Hospice. 


MS Prinsendam

16th July 2017

Ilfracombe will welcome the return of the cruise ship MS Prinsendam for a day long visit.  The ship should arrive at the latest by 8.00m and the first passengers will arrive on the pier at 8.15am.


Lynmouth Raft Race

22nd July 2017

Before taking to the water, the rafts form a procession where spectators can view their creativity and engineering skills up close.  Then flour bombs and buckets of water are thrown as competitors in varying designs of rafts - some built for speed and some for fancy dress - take to the seas and race to the buoy. Capsizing is not uncommon and some rafts don't make it all.  However a fantastic atmosphere, great fun and lots of laughter are promised.


Southwest Birdman

29th July 2017

The South West Birdman Competition sees crazy aviators and would-be pilots hurl themselves off Ilfracombe Pier into the icy waters below - all hoping to "fly" the furthest and be crowned champion of the event.


Woolsery Agricultural Show

31st July 2017

Summer in North Devon would not not be complete without a visit to this popular show.  Classes include crafts, cattle and sheep, together with horse and pony competitions.  There will be a dairy marquee with displays such as yogurt and ice cream making and the chance for children to milk a cow along with competitions.  You'll find bustling trade stalls offering locally made crafts and food with fairground rides and bouncy castle for the children.  There will also be a family dog show, a display of hounds, the Young Farmers' "It's a knockout" and to finish the day, a parade of vintage farm machinery.  Its a great summer day out for all the family.

North Devon Show

2nd August 2017

A host of livestock classes occupy the arenas throughout the day with Alpacas, Cattle, Goats, Horses. Sheep, Show Jumping and Open Dog Show.  Attractions, displays, demonstrations and trade stands for all.


Ilfracombe Flower & Craft Show

6th August 2017

The show is open to all and exhibitors will be able to stage their exhibits from 9am to 10am. Judging will take place from 10.30am with the show open to the public from 1.00pm.  Presentation of Awards is at 4pm followed by the sale of produce.


Sunwest Beer & Music Festival

25th August 2017 - 28th August 2017

A great atmosphere with free admission to a fantastic array of live music, entertainment, plus a wide range of real ales and cider.


Ilfracombe Carnival

28th August 2017

Carnival Procession - An eclectic mix of floats will keep you entertained for an evening. This spectacular event raises monies for local charities and is a fun night for all the family.

Road closure is at 18:00 prompt.

Route: Parade leaves Hillsborough (Swimming Pool) car park at 6.30pm, travels along Hillsborough Road, Portland Street, High Street, Church Street, turns right at Wilder Road and turns left into the Seafront/Capstone (just past crazy golf) for prize giving & presentations.


Mini Madness

28th August 2017

Mini cars, all different, create an amazing spectacle at the end of the Annual Grand Tour. The Grand Tour brings the locals out in their thousands into the streets to watch the Minis go by. It takes about 15/20 minutes for all the Minis to clear an area, one after the other. The event takes in some fantastic countryside and has some breathtaking stopping points. The final resting place is Ilfracombe and what a sight to behold, not to be missed.


Clovelly Lobster and Crab Festival

3rd September 2017

Clovelly celebrates its famous lobsters and crabs sustainably caught by its fisherman and a great day out for all the family.  Choose from a variety of crab and lobster dishes cooked on the Quay or book a table at the Red Lion Harbour Restaurant and dine on delicious lobster and seafood platters.  There'll be live folk music, chef cookery demonstrations, a prize draw for a magnum of champagne, local food and craft stalls, including plenty of freshly cooked lobsters and crabs, and beer tasting.  Children will be kept entertained by street theatre, walkabout magic, balloon modelling and event themed craft activities provided by The National Trust, also Shipwreak Survival and crab activities.


Ilfracombe Bike Show

The North Devon Motorcycle Action group held this popular event which is staged along the front near the Landmark Theatre.
